Waking up this morning will reveal some unfamiliar surroundings. The soft ripples of the canals and dulcet tones of otamatone fade from your ears, replaced by a steady, dry breeze and the ambient noise of the local populace filtering in through open windows. Another thing you'll notice is that it's warm - very warm. Light dress is recommended here.

You all awaken in your beds—although they aren't the beds that you found yourself falling asleep in previously, and you might not even see the same face as you had the previous night. But one by one, as you filter out, you find yourselves in a house, a bit on the older side but still comfortable. The decor is neutral and inoffensive, much like you'd expect of a place that sees many visitors.

Unlike the previous worlds you've visited, Ahnkeen is a bustling, busy place, full of people of all sorts - and not all are human, so please check your biases at the door. Though the world around them is dry and scarce of resources, the market town itself is alive and well, business booming, and the merchants here keep a close eye on their wares in case of any thieves.



Traversing down the streets of the housing district are the Temporals. For the most part they seem ready to receive everyone. Throwing their hands into the air and meandering down Rameel will be spearhead the introductions this time—their puma daemon trailing behind them. As an extra treat, they'll even seem to have their “black box” from previous with them this fine morning on full blast.

"Hello, hello everyone! WELCOME TO AHNKEEN!! The home to the great markets...probably. I hope more of you are used to these scenery changes by now, and by popular demand are your favorite Temporals. We've changed the set for the hat trick, but we won't stop there."

Satariel is standing close to Yomiel, their undercloak absent and their daemon raven-formed on their shoulder - it squawks after Rameel yells the welcome, but they offer everyone a warm smile. They do reach over to... turn down the "black box" of Rameel's, without looking, smile still intact. "For those of you that kept your things from previous worlds, especially the treasure from our adventures underwater, you might find that they come in handy here. We are in a market, after all."

The last Watcher has also shed their undercloak, staring at Rameel while their polecat daemon chitters. "Anyway," they turn to the rest with a vague gesture at Satariel. "Try not to steal too much this time. The last few worlds were pretty quiet, but you might run into trouble with the locals here if you keep that up."


With the new week, travelers will find that they are no longer connected physically and emotionally to another participant. As opposed to being drawn to one person in particular, they'll find themselves with the need to be physically close to any other participant they speak to. Go on, hold their hand, get your snuggle on - it'll make you feel better. This effect lasts all week.

[ satariel seems right at home in a place like this, wings folded to avoid being jostled in the market by the wide array of people and creatures that call this place home - whether temporarily or permanently - and they check every stall out. they engage the locals in conversation, happy chatter or shrew haggling alike.

if they notice you with an interest in something at a stall or shop, they'll sidle up. ] Need any help?

[ otherwise, they're in the central plaza (below the 2 on the location map), people watching from next to the fountain. ]

[Susato is here, dressed a little more lightly in a blouse and skirt. She leans in automatically towards Satariel, though she seems a bit embarrassed by it.]

Good morning. Quite a vibrant place we have found ourselves in.

Very much so! It reminds me of home. [ satariel sidles a little closer, and then - offers susato an arm to link? they aren't a walking ac, but it eases some of the affection needs while not being untoward. just some pals! ]

Oh? Are you from a desert clime? Or perhaps a bustling market town?

[ they seem appeased by this. their daemon croaks a greeting to ryutaro. ]

Mmm... combine Otamo with Ahnkeen, and that's a pretty good mashup of where I'm from. The market's are like this, but home has canals like Otamo. We even have a flooded district.

Wow! This is such an amazing place!

[ flat’s eyes are glittering with curiosity. ]

[ they trade a vendor for some... treasure? someone might have pocketed that in a previous world, hm. in exchange, they take a woven basket that they hook on their arm. ]

I'm doing alright, but I'm glad to see all of you. How're you fairing?

[Allen is suddenly very thankful for the clothes he ganked from the last place because now he has simple button up shirt, trousers, and a waist coat. though he's had to roll up his sleeves for the heat.

he's poking around at the market, mostly just looking around, but he starts a little and looks over to them.]

Ah, no, no I should be fine. I know how to get by in markets like this.

[gambling. the answer is always gambling.]

You and me both, then.

[ satariel is not gambling, though. they have come prepared for this. ]

Though a lot of the wares and foods are a little different in places from what I'm used to.

What would you get for yourself, then?

Mmm... if I could find pumpkin bread, that'd be great, but some pomegranates would also be good.

Fresh fruit is a little pricy, but... [ they pull out a gold trinket, giving it a toss and catching it. ] I can treat us to some.

Oh! My dear fellow, hello.

[He's peering at what looks to be a shabby stringed instrument, of a sort.]

Well, no, not really. I am just browsing the wares, you know!

[ they trot right up to him, bumping at his side, before giving a little space again. affection! ]

There's a lot to take in, so that's fair. What's that you've got there?

[greatdeduction]

[He's reaching out to pat them on the shoulder, smiling.]

Ah, it seems similar to a violin...I suppose I'm missing my Stradivarius at home. I wonder if I can play this one in a similar way.

[ beams with the pat. this week was made for satariel. ]

Maybe. It looks like it could a little tender love and care before you're playing it again, though.

[ sche is in her canon bikini. im sorry to everyone in her general vicinity, and especially satariel. she also has her two dresses with her that she is miserably lugging around in this heat and trying to pawn off. ]

Good day, I'm trying to trade for some more appropriate clothing. These dresses are quite nice, but I do not see any reason to keep holding onto them, if they could get me something else that I desire.

[ she'd try pawning her mom jeans too but who needs those in the desert. ]

Oh, Miss Scheherazade, would you like some help in carrying those..? That's an awful lot to be carting around on your own.

[ satariel makes grabbyhands at the dresses - both of them, insistent. if they're flustered by how sche is dressed, it's hard to tell, and they seem more interested in helping her out. ]

It'd free you up to be able to actually browse the textiles and clothes, here, I can take both of them easily.

Oh, you're too kind. [ She is also handing over the dresses because again. they are heavy. they served her well in milder climates, but heavy cottons have no use here! 'what about when they world hop again' it doesn't matter, sche is gonna load up on whatever clothes she can here. ]

I would not want to burden you with the assumption that you could make my clothes, but, these styles are familiar to me. I could assist you, at the very least?

[ in a bid to be more helpful, satariel's raven hops down and shifts mid-landing into its bear form, chuffing and snuffling as its person drapes one dress over its back, then the other, carefully finding the most efficient way to fold them. they're deft with it, even though there's just. a lot of fabric.

the last two worlds' fashion choices are very different from this one in terms of poof. ]

Of course! These clothes aren't too different from where I'm from, either, so I think you and I can make short work of finding some things you like. And if you find a fabric that you really like, we can make a little exchange and I can speed-tailor something with some Watcher magic.

Nope! We don't have any influence on the places we go to.

[ genuine answer. they seem less bothered by the world, this go around. ]
