week three: execution interred with their bones

Hopefully you got a long night of sleep? Barring that, you got whatever answers, or closure, you might have needed. Because it's strangely quiet, the following Sunday morning. There's something almost oppressive hanging over the city, the market silent for the day as businesses remain closed and merchants remain indoors.

Breaking the silence, somewhere, much like the song of Friday, there is the echoing, cruel laughter of voices you should faintly recognize throughout the city. It's followed by humming of that newly familiar song. It's strongest, interestingly, close to the outpost.

As time turns to 1 PM, though, there is a change as the voices fade. While there's no compulsion to investigate it, there's a small gathering out beyond the outpost, in the desert proper. Your three Watchers are here with their daemons, and so are... Rin, and his daemon, front and center. All damages and evidence, anything amiss from the weekend, is all gone, and replaced with the state of the city from the week prior.

Nearby, the Watchers stand clustered together. Satariel stands close to Rin, hand gently between his shoulders, though they periodically look back Yomiel's way or around the area with an uneasy dread. Yomiel stands a short distance away from the others, avoiding the others' gaze as well as they can (that is, badly). Their ocelot daemon crouches beside them, fur bristling. Rameel stands somewhere between Satariel and Yomiel to act as some sort bridge between the three of them. Their puma daemon settled by their feet as it keeps tabs on Yomiel's ocelot as Rameel makes sure to not look away.

And then, another party will be compelled to join them. Yukio will find that his feet are carrying him to his destination, Miki sticking close to him as they travel past bones across shifting sands. Once he passes a certain point, opposite where Rin stands, he'll find that he can't go back, and neither can his daemon.

Likewise, no one can enter the area further than where the three Watchers stand, Satariel having been pushed back, stopped only by their daemon shifting to its bear form. There will be no interfering from outside parties, no matter what it is that's about to happen. Any attempts to do so will result in them meeting an invisible barrier, one that rebuffs them with the same amount of force used against it—so take care.

[ flat is there, his expression blank, but when he sees yukio, his eyes widen just slightly for a second, before falling back to a neutral look. ]

...I see. So that's how it'll be.

[ kaeya will just stand and observe, his arms folded tightly as polaris watches onward, bristling while seated at his feet. his teeth pull back from time to time whiel kaeya himself remains silent. ]

[ wow!!! who could have guessed!!!

san lang, qilin form, snarls, and xie lian stands beside him, fists clenched, furious. ] Utterly despicable.

[Here she is. She's on her feet and looks much improved from yesterday, physically at least. She's dressed simply in trousers and a shirt. Ryutaro, in hare form, is perched at her feet.

She doesn't cry out or try to look away this time, however. If anything, her expression is angry, but a little distant.]

[ He stares on, not as deeply filled with anger as last night, but he's still... displeased.

Either way this plays out? No one wins. ]

[Van Zieks seems oddly stiff as he walks up to execution, and there's a bandage on his neck along with a fresh bruise on his cheek. But anyway don't worry about that. He is just frowning.]

... Of course. It always is the most accursed option, isn't it.

[Nero is here, looking like he hasn't slept at all last night. His jaw clenches as Yukio's pulled in.

Disce's tail swishes back and forth, watching the proceedings.]

[ goddammit this is the exact opposite of what was needed here. ]

[ among the crowd, a fourth watcher stands with hands clasped before them as in prayer. their breath hitches when yukio walks forward to join rin, but they remain silent. ]

rochalizo watches with a tense expression, not unlike everyone else, as philia in baby bear form curls up at his feet as though not wanting to see any of this.]

Joonghyuk sits here to watch in silence… Niah is nearby in his black Jaguar form, curled up almost into a ball around him. I guess we must witness fratricide. ]

[Allen is sporting a couple spots of bruising on his forehead--don't worry about it--as he quietly moves along the barrier, watching. he appears to be much calmer than he was at the end of trial, but he sports a clearly infuriated frown at the sight of Yukio there. not surprised, but still... absolutely... furious.]

[ Kim Dokja shouldn't be surprised, and really? He isn't. Something like this is just so likely to happen back home, but that doesn't make it any better. Doesn't make it easier when he watches who is pitted against the other teen.

Jin curls around his neck, shifting in her black hognose snake form with a quiet low but audible hiss. She does not open her mouth or bare fangs, just idly slithers around as he watches but does not do so silently. Though, as usual, he does watch their surroundings as well. ]

[ Well, she would have been shocked if it had been anyone else. ]

[Spike wanders in, his hands in the pockets of his coat. He's got a bite mark on his neck and a few scratches around his throat. It's fine.

His lip curls in anger when he sees Yukio walk in.]

[ satariel, much like the last time the temporals were in charge of execution, goes from being pushed back to stepping in to pound their fists on the barrier angrily.

just a few times, this go around, though - they wind up slumping back against their bear with the knowledge that it's futile, just. watching, biting their lip. they don't join the group of celestials, though they do look their way with quiet despair briefly. ]

She’s obviously not surprised, her expression trained; neutral. And it remains that way for all an entire second before her brows furrowed.

Grigory looks up to her in his lynx form, nudging her leg despite not earning a response. ]

[ well. after all the yelling she did at rin last night, here she is. her face is uncharacteristically somber as she cuddles cōng ming in her arms, listening intently verses blindly staring. this sucks!! ]

[ Akira's here, away from everyone else as per usual, Nagako wrapped around his neck. They're both not looking away from any of this, and there's not really so much an expression on his face but blankness. ]

She's not surprised one bit that Yukio was the selected executioner.
