WEEK FIVE TRIAL
week five: trial
i want to speak to a manager

23 Remain
Good morning, everyone! Hopefully you're well-rested, because there's a long day ahead of you.
The start of the day is yours to do with what you want, but come 11:45 AM, your daemons will feel a compulsion to lead you to chapel and will ensure that you're up and moving to head there. You can certainly resist it, but by the time 11:55 AM rolls around... you'll find your feet taking you there, regardless, if you aren't there already. There's no exceptions—it seems that this gathering is mandatory, as you'll find that your fellow travelers are all heading to the same destination as you.
Waiting in the chapel for your arrival are Satariel, Rameel, and Yomiel. Tables for offerings sit at the front end of the room. They've been left empty for the day ahead - save for one, where plates, bowls, cups, and cutlery have been stacked neatly for later in the day. Some snacks and drinks have been provided for the early portion of the day, and proper food for later. Come noon, once everyone is within the chapel, they'll find that the doors close and lock behind them.
Sporting a bit of a different look with their long blonde locks gone, Rameel will be leaning against the podium upfront with a lazy smile on their face. Their wounds and injuries from yesterday seemingly healed up completely sans one more permanent injury. And even though it looks as if they were going to say something, they ultimately don't and pass their turn.
Yomiel looks much better than yesterday, wounds healed, broken wings set, and clothing repaired. Speaking too much seems to be a bit of a strain, though, as their voice is still scratchy and rough. "You've don't have much time to find Mikotoba. Don't waste it."
Satariel is curled up in one of the pews, wrapped in their cloak and a blanket and looking tired. But they are paying attention, and their daemon paces slowly nearby as a bear, snuffling at anyone that comes close enough as though checking them over as well. It still does not touch. The Watcher sounds - quiet, for once. "Let's get started. And, while it won't matter to the trial... for your numbers, Miss Rika was a Celestial."
Every hour that passes, the chapel bell will ring out with the time. The pressure's on, good luck.

Trial start
Business stops for no one! Welcome, everyone, to our sixth trial. For the next nine hours, characters are expected to investigate the setting, compile and examine evidence, locate any unalive and unaccounted for members of their group, and theorize about the going ons of Thursday night/Friday morning that lead up to this point.
Mod breaks will run a little differently than they have in past games. There will be a three hour block starting at 4 PM EST/1 PM PST and ending at 7 PM EST/4 PM PST, where we'll be cycling one mod out at a time to take an hour long break while the other two remain to keep tags going and answer any questions players might have. We encourage players to take a break at any point during this timeframe, but the player-designated break will be at the traditional 5 - 6 PM EST time! Reference our timezones if need be.
Voting is mandatory in Chasma, acting as our activity check for the week. Please ensure that you've submitted your vote before 9:05 PM EST/6:05 PM PST, unless you've spoken with the mods previously, as we'll begin tallying votes on the dot.
If there's anything that you need from us, IC or OOC, please let us know how we can help!

[But he'll take what he got and keep going. Hm. How's this sculpture-destruction look? Any distinct marks that could indicate a weapon used?]
no subject
[ well. wow that sure is a mess. does it look like someone just went nuts with blunt force around here?
he'll look for any cleaner prints, as kim requested, but he's also scouring around the statues for any obvious lumps, or purposely piled snow. any nooks and crannies, and he's hunting them for rochalizo's present... ]
no subject
since yuri is looking as well, he'll notice there's also a faint shimmer of something sparkly in a few of the medium sized prints.
the sculpture destruction depends! there are a few that are destroyed: a bear, a lynx, a snake, a swan, and an angel. they all have slashes through them, but you'd have to examine them specifically to get a good idea of what damage is going on there.
except for the angel. the angel is very, very bloody. there's no way you wouldn't notice this.]
no subject
... Why is the angel bloody. Kim's going to walk over to look at the angel.]
no subject
he is still looking for the rochalizo gift. he will do this constantly. ]
no subject
no, wouldn't that be fucked up tho. no it's just bloody. there's a hole that looks like a stab near the torso of the angel, and blood all around it, leaking down the base of the statue. it almost eerily looks like the angel itself is bleeding, if it weren't for the fact that the blood is drying. there's also a haphazard slash through one of the wings.
there's also some stuff on the ground next to the angel statue, as well as the small set of footprints leading off out of the garden itself, bloody and staggered. the medium set follows, just as staggered.
yuri can see that the prints kind of look like a small mammal. like maybe a bunny or something. little tiny poke peet marks.
the sparkly stuff appears to be glitter.
no sign of the gift yet!]
no subject
[Kim rubs the top of his head. For like the umpteenth time this morning, a few more specks of the horrible stuff fall out.]
Okay, so there was a fight here... Blades. Both parties injured?
[Do the animal prints have a bunny-like pattern to them? Since buns have a pretty distinct way of moving compared to other small animals.
Anyway, Kim's going to look at this... "stuff" on the ground next to the angel statue.]
no subject
[ tiny peet marks.... peeties....
which direction are the small and medium peeties going towards? if yuri follows them will he find some secrets? gifts? susato's half dead corpse lying in the snow for him to step over so siz can have freedom? ]
no subject
the "stuff" is as follows!
a sword, a coin, a... pony? and a very sharp shard of ice, with something gold and glittery on it.
the small and medium peeties are kind of chaotic in this area and it's hard to tell which set belongs to which, running around all of the broken statues with various amounts of blood droplets scattered here and there. but best yuri can tell is that just the medium peets come from the maze, and then from the angel statue, both sets head out towards the storage area.
no corpse, but as yuri reaches the broken bear statue there's a distinct whir of something electronic, muffled. there's a pile of snow nearby.]
no subject
[Assuming there aren't a ton of jians going around, but what do I know? Is the "something gold and glittery" Dust?
He looks over at the whirring sound.]
Is that...?
[He'll let Yuri go check it out, since he's been so diligently looking for it.]
no subject
[ ... ah.
well, he's on it like a car bonnet. digging in the snow. is this what he's looking for? ]
no subject
yuri digs through the snow, and finds... a bot! it is having a time, all of the joints frosty and making the poor thing skip and stutter. there's a button on it just like before, but it's icy and frozen, so it'll be hard to press it until you get back to evidence...]
no subject
[That's a robot!]
Try to keep that warm. The cold isn't good for machines.
I found some Dust over here. Doesn't look like a fatal amount. But I think it confirms that some of the blood we're seeing was genuinely spilled that night.
[Since they're right here -- does the sword they found match the stab in the angel statue?]
no subject
So, either Susato, or she got some good hits in on her attacker. That'll be fun to find this week.
[ ... ]
We need to check the maze too, right? [ he's doing another look over the garden to make sure there's nothing really obvious like susato impaled on the top of a statue or something. or a sign that says "[person] is the attacker" hewwo? ]
no subject
the bot whirs, and then goes silent, settled in yuri's warm tits.
there are the bear, lynx, snake and swan statues that are damaged. greg is sitting on top of the bear one? how'd he get up there.
otherwise the maze is there, waiting.]
no subject
Yes, we can probably move on soon.
[One last check before they go. Anything up with these other sculptures? Hi Greg. How's the view from the bear?
Also, any dust to be found around those bun prints?]
no subject
[ greg, everyone's son, how DID you get up there? is there a sign? a little greg sized ladder? a CORPSE TO CLIMB? ]
no subject
greg squeaks from his perch. greg is eternal, he doesn't have to explain himself.
it depends, also, which statue are you looking at!]
no subject
no subject
no subject
the snake is also haphazardly damaged, broken in two, and the swan statue has a wing broken off, with a clean, steady slash.]
no subject
Okay, I think we should go to the maze now.
no subject
Alright. Here -- [ he'll just dig out a... whole ass roll of thread and string. some looks like it's from the kitchen, some looks like he just unravelled a wholeass sweater or two. which is exactly what he did. ]
Hang on, I'll tie one end of this to something and then we have something to follow out again. [ he'll find something sturdy to attach, tie, or shove the string under. ]
no subject
but they can go through the maze! as they do, they can see one set of footprints (the medium ones) leading out of the maze, from the center. the string is helpful for getting out but you can absolutely follow the footsteps to the center!
at the center, the small footprints are also there, leading in from the other side of the maze. they abruptly vanish, though.]
no subject
He's checking out where the small footprints vanish. Do they vanish near any other prints?
Also, the maze might provide a little cover -- are any of these prints clear enough to get a better sense of size?]
