FAREWELL
ALL GOOD THINGS
must come to a (golden) end

WELCOME TO THE LAND OF PROSPERITY
Morning comes, and the world is alive.
Rays of warmth gently reach out to a place that has never seen the sun, bringing with it more vivid color than the world has seen before. The sky is clear, free of clouds and smog and gray, a picturesque scene to welcome a new day, a new life. The voices of the harpies welcome the dawn for the first time with a soft but joyful song, their voices light and sanguine as they take to the skies to sing of freedom from the powers they've always feared and served.
Drawn out by the familiar voices of the harpy, lifted into something beautiful, something heartfelt, are the ghosts that were hidden within the caves. Despondent, hopeless, beaten down for aeon by the harpies, they peer out into the open world that the bomb's explosion created. They watch the sun rise on the Land of the Dead - a sun many have not seen since time forgotten - and there is new hope. Slowly, one by one, the ghosts of the long dead and recently dead alike, those that have been ferried across to the resting place created by the Authority, begin to walk out into the sun.
And, just like that, they begin to fade to Dust, smiles on their faces after so long in the dark. The gold drifts in the air, to rejoin the world anew. Free will, intention, knowledge - soul.
The Tree of Knowledge thrives in the light, the last of the Dust of angels a perfect fertilizer to make it grow and stand tall over the participants of a competition they never chose to join, its branches blooming with flowers of white. And the participants themselves, all of you...
You, too, are alive. The icy touch of the ghosts has faded into something more natural and warm. Color returns to faces, and even without the touch of magic, all wounds are healed. You are alive. Your story will continue, and your happy ending awaits.
It's just across the river, and Charon is ready to take you there, through clear air where the mists have lifted. And when you finally arrive...
...Your souls are here to welcome you home. Even those who have lost that part of themselves will find it again, waiting at the docks to find their way into your arms the very second you step out, another second away simply too much to bear. And at last, your daemons shift, one last time, to settle on a form you may or may not have seen before - and you know, in your hearts, that this is a good thing, something natural, something to celebrate, no longer the herald of trauma or some misdeed.
Beyond the docks, the suburbs buzz with an energy it hasn't seen before. The ghosts, like your own, feel more warm and solid and real. The lost and misguided have a spark of hope in their eyes, their delight at the changes in this world unmistakable as they point to something, a little further out. Follow their gazes, and you'll find the source of their excitement easily.
A window to another world. Two - three - and more. As one person reaches out, a city on the other side slowly changes to a field of flowers. A small village changes to a desert market, through which the merchants wave people to come in, come in, they'd love to see you. Through another window, an empty and barren world littered with rubble shimmers to instead show a world filled with water and memory, perfectly intact, and someone new steps into this world to embrace a familiar face among the crowd.
The windows stabilize, allowing everyone to come and go as they choose. The Land of the Dead is no longer a prison, after all - merely a waypoint, just another stop along a journey that need only end when wanderers are ready.
What some might call an end, after all, is often a new beginning.

Welcome, travelers, to your golden end.
Dead and alive both have been revived, injuries healed, and powers returned to normal. Your daemons have all returned to you, though they will settle into one form, and will no longer shift - though this form does not have to be one of the three taken over the course of the game, and may yet be something new entirely.
Keep your coins! A new symbol has taken the place of the clock face or comet that marked your teams - a great, blooming tree. With that, you will be able to return to the Land of Prosperity at any time, and visit any other world that you wish to see.
Your characters are free to continue their stories however they choose - in their own world, or another.

Revali, in turn, seems to be pretty damn attached to her, Even though Medli isn't exactly small, he tolerates her presence on his shoulder and doesn't complain she keeps nuzzling and hassling him. She's his soul, after all. And this is better than she gnawing on his legs to scold him.
There he is, watching the passageway to his world. Through it, a peaceful-looking lake, a town built on a round cliffside full of platforms and hanging houses. A bright day. It looks so...idyllic, in a way. If someone comes close to him, he says:]
Hyrule is bound to have peaceful days, you know. The blight that tormented this kingdom for countless years is gone, and of course, I had a part in such an event despite my...untimely end.
[Yeah, he's admitting his death nowadays]
I suppose if you ever want to visit, you're welcome. Believe me when I say nobody will look twice at you in Rito Village -- visitors are welcome. You don't need flight to get there, you'll find a bridge not too far away from this...portal. No matter what I will be doing I suppose I can spare some time for at least making sure you're not sleeping under a tree out there in the wild.
[Implying he's going back home to Rito Village, of course. It's his home. Revali may have been dead for a century, he may not know anybody and who knows how people will react to him being alive again, but...you know what? Stranger things happen in Hyrule.
He will make this work.
Also Qi Rong is still completely banned from Hyrule]

I have a glider back home... would that work?
I'd love to go flying with you... [ he grins ]

[How presumptuous, Kaeya]
Then again, I suppose I can force you to come along with ease. I launched Link and his glider up in the way countless times -- doing the same to you so you can fly without embarrassing yourself will be easy enough.
[Using Revali's Gale for recreational purposes, golly, this is his new life]

But a bit of help to keep me from falling to my death on occasion would be rather appreciated.
[ polaris just wags his tail excitedly. ] You'll have to show me all of the sights, I'm so curious about this Hyrule of yours...
no subject
[He really didn't like the way people paid so much attention to how he was a bird, haha!
That Revali doesn't say no to showing around Hyrule is definitely a yes:]
I guess I could do that. Don't be surprised if you find it sparse, though. A hundred years ago the horrors that killed me also caused...widespread destruction. But despite that, everything is still being rebuilt. You'll probably like everything you'll see.
[Because it's peaceful and nice...until the sequel officially is released, then everything is retconned into being a mess]

[ keeping himself up in the air, moving across it...that's definitely a fun challenge! ]
Once I learn, I'll visit you, sir!
no subject
[With magic, presumably, but still...he's pretty skeptical Flat will succeed at that, haha]
no subject
I do. I think I have a good start, too. Watch--!
[ like a spring, flat bounces up high in the air--higher than a normal human should. mid air, flat snaps his fingers, and shouts his nonsense incantation-- ]
Float!
[ before floating down in a similar manner to a feather that floats back down. ]
I think that if I modify that here and there, I could probably stay long enough in the air. It wouldn't necessarily be flying flying, but it'd be more like...gliding!
no subject
It's a start. Once you learn to glide I wouldn't mind showing you around by flying instead of walking. Gliding will be enough -- I wouldn't expect you to try to reach an impossible standard such as getting on my level.
[Just some casual bragging here, apparently]
no subject
[ he shrugs! it is what it is. gliding is more than good enough for him, especially since it gives him the ability to see the world from a whole new perspective. ]
So that I can see the incredible Master Revali in action, I'll make sure to learn to glide properly!
[ there we go, revali. flat finally called you by your full title. ]
no subject
[ some things don't change ever and she's honestly thrilled. she's happy to see him being himself but, of course, with a little change. ]
no subject
[Because he can't carry anyone safely yet, he's not strong enough for that yet, but hey, a huge mechanical bird-shaped machine is something to behold, even if it's from some distance away!]
no subject
[ it's fine....they'll figure things out together or something like that. ]
no subject
[Revali actually sounds fond of Van Medoh. That's his mechanical beast, therefore it's great and imposing and powerful and there's no discussion as far as he's concerned]
no subject
Master Revali! I would still like to see your fighting skills, so I will most certainly come to visit!
no subject
You certainly should. Even though these should be peaceful times, that doesn't mean I shouldn't hone my skills further.
[More like Xie Lian coming to see would be an opportunity to brag and showboast. Some things just never change, and among them, is Revali's pride at what he can do]
no subject
[she grins. aura, who has settled into djinni form for good, makes a small trilling noise and flies a circle around revali, excited, before nyooming back to alight on sheba's shoulder.]
You can help me practice my magic! I'm sure I'd learn quickly with an example like yours.
no subject
Revali nods]
I suppose I could take the time to aid with such a thing. The archery training grounds I opened for the public would be perfect for such endeavor.
[Just don't go in winter, it can get really cold over there, haha]
no subject
[hard work, but also fun! it would probably be rewarding, too.
she's pretty strong to begin with - that's what happens when you've reached the end of your journey before coming to a place like this - but there's always room for improvement, isn't there?]
I'd like to see more of Hyrule, too. What I saw seemed wonderful.
