Waking up this morning will reveal some unfamiliar surroundings. Gone is the ancient city—which many learned had come to be named Krankaz—and its salt-caked, rusted, ruined world. Your beds are more comfortable, your things stored away in much finer rooms where light filters in through stained glass. Did you miss sunlight? Fresh air? There's much of it to be found, here. But there seems to be... music faintly playing from somewhere, at all times? Sometimes, the song changes, but it's always of the same quality. How strange...

You all awaken in your beds—although they aren't the beds that you found yourself falling asleep in previously, and you might not even see the same face as you had the previous night. But one by one, as you filter out, you find yourselves in a dusty mansion, this go around. It's almost eerie, with the music in the background softly playing, but it's easy to tune it out as you begin exploring the new world that you've all found yourselves in.

Much like your previous worlds, this one seems a little sparse, in terms of population. Unlike the last one, though, you'll find other occupants—just not here, with you now. But the bright colors of moss, coral, flora, and fauna are replaced by the bright color of stained glass and greenery, a world filled to the brim with life in a different way. The soft rush of water can be heard everywhere along with the melodies of this city, little water mills constantly running even in the canals, though some of them and the machines here seem to be in a little disrepair. Shall we?



In the foyer of this grand mansion, your Watchers of the week can be found—the Celestials. They're ready to receive you, and hopefully see you through this week more safely than the last two. Good morning!

Baraqiel speaks up first, this time, thick cloak closed around themself completely to conceal their wings, and daemon perched eagle-formed on the banister of the stairs. "We've got a name right off for this one, unlike the last one. City's called Otamo—do all of us and yourselves a favor and don't break anything that actually keeps the lights on. Maintaining a city is hard enough without everyone bringing it down around us."

Daemon on their shoulder in squirrel form, Suriel has a smile and a wave for everyone. "It's a nice place, too! Or it was, once. And the music's great - just like being in a video game! Ah, but try not to break into everything? Or at least try put it back like you found it, please."

Resting on Shamsiel's head is their daemon, and they start the day with a polite smile for everyone. "And like always, we're here to help you however we can. So, please, you know how to reach us should there be anything you'd need."

That seems to be all, but before you're released off to go exploring—Baraqiel has one last thing to add: "They're too nice to say it, but I'm not: stop asking Suriel for anything involving blood, whether it's power-related or for food. If you want that shit, ask a different Watcher, and ask Suriel for something else."

Suriel has some quiet protests to that, but they seem to go ignored.


With the new week, travelers will find that they no longer have minor control of the four major elements. Instead, they'll find that they have an unbreakable connection to another participant, one that reveals something many of you work hard to hide. You feel what they feel, and they feel what you feel, both physically and emotionally. What will you do when faced with the terrifying ordeal of being known? This effect lasts all week.

Additionally, there's an aspect of this world you may want to take note of—around the city, primarily in the canals, are broken panes and shards of glass that are... different. These can be retrieved out of the water, or off the banks, or from broken fixtures to no detriment to yourselves. However, you'll find that interacting with them shares a fragment of a memory from your point of view with those around you, genuine and true. The music of Otamo adapts to each memory, and may drown out any spoken word in the memory (though you may play with the intensity of this, to allow for some dialogue to be audible), but with how most shards are small enough to be held in the hand, they have a transportable potential to them. You may bring your memshare to others, whether by accident or on purpose.

[it does not look like a scarf.] Do you want it? It's not like I can give this to someone I like.

[ a chuckle. ]

I mean, is there something stopping you from doing that?

Yeah, I have standards. Theoretically.

Nice eyepatch.

[ standards? never heard of 'em. ]

[a looooooong pause, and then:]

Taako.

Kaeya.

Do you know anything about this place, Miss Taako?

[kaeya may be interested in feeding the birds, but there's someone else who's also interested in said-birds. if he's watching, he may notice a sleek little shadow of a cat crawling closer, green eyes wide and watching the birds closely.

what will he do?]

[ pspspspsps.

he's gonna shake his vision at the cat. jingle jingle. ]

[dragonaire]

[the cat swivels his head immediately to where kaeya is, staring for a moment in that almost-unnerving way cats do. mrr?

but he will trot forward, tail low and steps tentative. once he's close enough, the cat stops and sniffs at kaeya. unfamiliar...hello?]

[callalilies]

[ hey little buddy. he's gonna just jingle it a little more back and forth for kitten to play with. there are plenty of cats back in mondstadt, he's had his fair share of them taking interest in bits and baubles hanging off of him when he's stops by good hunter to grab some food.

any collar on the kitten? ]

Where'd you come from?

[dragonaire]

[said-kitty is busy watching but he does try to paw at the vision now that his attention is off the birds. there's no collar, but he tries to meow and response and it comes out as a little squeak instead.

the answer, however, is probably going to come from the sound of someone else approaching, fairly exasperated.]

He's pretty good at sneaking off without me noticing. [the cat does not care that he's been caught and instead blinks innocently at kaeya instead while ignoring his owner.]

[callalilies]

Ah, an escape artist? It figures.

[ squeak... hah. that's. unbearably cute. holding out a finger now, he's not afraid of kitten claws. take a soft boop kitten. ]

Sorry, little one, that sounds like the end of your adventure. [ glancing up at the newcomer. ] Do you live here?

[dragonaire]

More like a con artist. Sure, he's real cute now but just wait until you have something he really likes.

[the kitten does not care about this slander and squeaks with the boop, now pawing at kaeya's actual fingers.]

It's not much, but it's home. It's the only place I've ever known.

[callalilies]

[ ahhh... cute... playing with him gently now. from beneath the bench, polaris gives a soft huff, crying open one eye to see this kitty business.

cute. ]

I've only just arrived, and I'm rather curious. Have those strange glass shards always been there? Around the canal?

[admiringly]

[ Here is someone who is also people watching.

Well, it looks like she's drawing her surroundings, more than anything else. If she manages to look at him while he's looking at her, she gives him a sheepish smile and mouths, Sorry! ]

[callalilies]

[ just a smile and a shake of the head. ]

Are you an artist?

[admiringly]

[ She's still a little sheepish. ]

I like drawing! Does that make me one?

[callalilies]

Only if that's what you'd like to be. I've a friend, he likes to draw as well. I'd say he's as much an artist as he is a man of science. You can be many things at once.

[ a tip of the head. at his feet, polaris is lounging in wolf form under the bench, tail thumping softly. ]

[admiringly]

I haven't thought too much about it. [ About what she wants to be. ] Your friend sounds amazing!

[ She is entirely genuine about that, but Polaris, as a wolf, makes her a little nervous, and she's a girl who wears her heart on her sleeve. ]

I don't think I could be a scientist or anything like that, but if my art can help other people somehow, I'd like to be someone who could do that!

[callalilies]

[ kaeya just nudges him softly with his boot, scritching beneath his chin with the tip of it idly. ]

Art helps people in many ways. I have to put my trust in many a great artist when it comes to map-making in particular. That requires quite a skillful hand.

[admiringly]

[ Map-making, huh? ]

I've tried that, too, but I don't know if it's any good...

[ She flips the pages of her sketchbook, and if he looks before she turns the pages, Kaeya can see that she's been sketching him and the other people here.

She shows him a decent map of the area surrounding the water mill, but it is very noticeably less detailed in any area that leads to the city. ]

[callalilies]

You've got an eye for detail, these are wonderful.

[ he smiles brightly at that. ]

What happened to the area around the city, though?
