Waking up this morning will reveal some unfamiliar surroundings. While Camebit had an autumnal chill in the air, things are a little different, now - the air is frigid, and waking up is an adventure, considering you are swaddled to the nines and cozied right up to your roomie of the week (where you have one, anyways). Everything around you is made of ice and packed snow, fogged glass and porcelain, and it is freezing. Who thought this was a good idea? Even the brisk chill of Camebit in the skies above everything was more forgiving than this! This isn't a transition! Whose manager can you speak to..?

About that.

You have to trek out of the lodging, and over into the building made of actual wood and stone, to actually see your Watchers of the week. They're all dressed in their full cloaks again to combat the chill, even in this building, although both Rameel and Satariel are standing much closer to Yomiel than they usually do - much like they had in Ahnkeen, actually.

"Good morning and welcome to Nerak! If you've ever wondered what it was like to stay at an ice hotel, then you're in luck!" Rameel says with moderate flourish as they make sure to keep close to Yomiel—their daemon currently not found anywhere near them as they make the announcement. Looks like they're without their black box of musical wonders this morning.

While the other two Watchers press close, Yomiel's daemon has wrapped itself around their neck like a polecat scarf. Warm. Arm cradled gently against their chest, they pause to glance at Satariel before greeting everyone. "Try to be careful. The ice can get slippery, especially when you're all looking like that and leaving a mess everywhere you go." Whatever that means.

Satariel seems a little more subdued than usual but offers everyone a smile, daemon bear-shaped against their back, large head peering around at everyone while they take in the travelers that come to join them here in the hotel lobby. Their cloak is completely closed around them - not even the front of their dress can be seen, and they're clearly holding it tightly shut. "Please be nice to the hotel staff - if I catch any of you being rude to them, I'll kick you clear across the tundra before sticking you in their outdoor 'jail' for timeout. We're guests, but they're working hard to accommodate us, alright?"

With the new week, travelers will find that they no longer the adorable animal features they did in Camebit, but something much less cute. Injuries from their pasts have come back to haunt them, major or minor, and they cannot be healed. The good thing is that they don't seem to hurt or really take a toll on the travelers at all - at least, not until they're touched, and then both you the other will feel the pain from the moment the wound was inflicted. This effect lasts all week.

[There are absolutely a number of yaoi hounds keeping a close eye on their booth. They seem to be waiting to see if there's any ~tension~ between Kaeya and Yuri. Every so often they're breaking out into shrieks and arguments--it seems they still haven't decided on who Heimirich should be with yet.]

The book preorders [That definitely, absolutely exist] are 17. Can you give her the change?

[Excuse me, I have a question!! Can we ask for something specific from the artist?

Uh-oh. This isn't one of the girls from before, but the way in which she's looking at the three of them spells trouble.]

You can ask, but he's quite set in his ways with his particular style, so he might say no.

[ as a warning. the wolf bites. he looks over at yuri and raises a brow. ]

I think they're asking for commissions.

17? Alright, hang on. [ he's digging through the coins they have for change when the request comes in. yuri pauses to glance up. ]

That depends on what they're commissioning.

[Well, we were wondering--

Why don't you draw some of Alisaie's other characters. You know. The other romances, she's written so many in this book it's full of ... [ what's the lingo? ] ships. With Kim Dokja and Yoo Joonghyuk. There's a really delightful storyline that just creates such an evocative portrait of their love for one another. Ooh, or dear Kotetsu and Sholmes. Either are very riveting stories of love in adversity.

[ nod nod ]

[ give him a fucking minute here, he's gonna have to duck under the table so he doesn't just burst out laughing. after a moment, his hand will appear and push the 3 coins of change towards the poor girls preordering a book that doesn't exist.

and then he'll stand up. ]

Yeah, the lead couple should remain secret. But the side ships? Also worth your time and effort. And based off more people the author knows -- if you're really observant, you might spot them around this very area.

[ rip in fuck crystal and emi. guess who he's gonna draw? ]

[Kim Dokja and Yoo Joonghyuk? They might kill them (well, mostly YJH). Kotetsu and Sholmes are absolutely the better choice here. Alisaie is similarly going to have to duck down behind the table under the pretense of petting the animals, because there is absolutely no way she could keep a straight face through this. None whatsoever.

But the girls are delighted anyways. Okay!

Do you think we can find them?

Maybe we can get them to sign it! Would that be okay? (toward Yuri)

But eventually, they'll take their drawing and go, and the three of them can close down their booth for the day.

[ he pulls the flask out from his shirt and begins to pass it down the line. he'll drink last, there's enough for them all. ]

A hard day's work, but I'd say we did rather well given the odds...

[ he flops back. ]

[ how does that thing even fit in there, kaeya? ]

A hard day's work, is that what we call it? If anyone asks, we have no idea why those girls got the sudden urge to stalk Sholmes and Kotetsu, right?

[ gib flask, he wants some. ]

[He'd better be passing that flask on once he's done with it.]

[...oh, that's strong. Not that she wasn't expecting it to be, but--there's. She takes her drink, and her expression doesn't entirely give her away, but. There's a little cough a moment later.

Just. Passing that back to Kaeya now. It's fine.]

[ don't ask him how it fits, it just does okay?

alisaie coughs and he just smiles a little to himself, waiting for the flask to return to him now. ]

Sworn to secrecy for our sins, sounds perfect to me.

It's not like that can demand returns when we jump worlds anyway.

It does make you wonder what happens when we arrive and when we leave. Will they even remember paying for those drawings?
