22 Remain
Another week, another world to explore. Once again, waking brings you to unfamiliar surroundings, the bitter touch of Nerak cold fading to the more mild weather of autumn. The sound of cars or people talking or faint music greets your ears, no matter the time of day or night, and the light pollution is intense. Hope you weren't counting on seeing the stars.
Welcome to Kings, where you'll have your pick of shopping, entertainment, cute date spots, or just about anything else that you can think of! The city has something to offer for everyone. You'll never be wanting for things to do here - just try not to get lost in the subways. The locals may not be the most willing to help out.

Waiting for you to join them in the main plaza of Star Circle are Baraqiel, Shamsiel, and Suriel. You might have to push your way through the crowds to reach them properly, but no one's blinking an eye at your Watchers today. There are other people in costume hanging around already. What's a few angels to add to the antics?
Suriel greets everyone with their usual cheerful smile, fox daemon pressed close to their ankles to avoid getting lost in the crowd. "I bet this world reminds a bunch of you of home, huh? Let's all make the most of it while we're here!"
Baraqiel heaves a sigh, daemon weasel-formed and half-hidden in the folds of their hood as it suspiciously squints at every noise its little ears pick up. "Speak for yourself." They do not seem 100% thrilled with this worldhop, come the new week, but do at least offer something to the travelers gathered. "For those of you less used to cities like this, there are motorized vehicles of varying sizes in Kings - try not to get run over by them."
With a soft laugh, Shamsiel will look at Baraqiel and gently pat them on their upper arm and their falconet daemon will then proceed to take flight from their shoulder. At least they seem to be relieved that Baraqiel gave them a warning for those who aren't going to be familiar with it. "And much like the previous worlds we've been to, please be mindful of what you end up doing here. We are just visitors, after all, and it'd be rude if we left it all a mess."

As for your effect of the week... Your past injuries have cleared, with no phantom pains left to haunt you, your loved ones, or your launders. Instead, you'll find that you are unable to speak dishonestly - any time you try, your words get stuck on the tip of your tongue and never quite make it out. It's honesty week, lads - no more lying to yourselves or anyone else.

1/3 (garden of eden redux)
I've two things to address today. [Which I, Abi, am splitting into two tags bc hahahahaha :')]
The first has to do with our journey into the Garden of Eden, which I detailed last week. At that time I stated that Uriel had asked us to find where "it" might be born anew.
"It" did not refer to the Kingdom of Heaven. "It" referred to something more tangible than that.
[She nods toward Rin.]
2/3
Uriel cut this off of the tree that was growing in the Garden and gave it to us. They told us that the Lord Regent must not get it no matter what. And uh, I'm guessing they explained a lot more about it to Alisaie and Van Zieks too.
[Since he. Was not there for that part. But he'll leave it open for Alisaie to add any more details there.]
We're supposed to find somewhere new to plant this. When we plant it in the right place, it'll start growing. And until then, we have to keep it safe. The Lord Regent tried to kill us to get to it.
3/3
To my understanding, they had been nurturing this cutting from the Tree of Knowledge for millennia--since the original fall of the Garden.
They had used their own essence to ensure it did not die before it could be given to us.

This was how we witnessed a child die when the scenario tried to take control of Herlock Sholmes and I, then Furude Rika we tried to save, but was too late. Most children do not survive being severed from their daemon, but the scientists there believed this was the only way to truly free themselves from the angels forever, if they could find a way to be without Dust. The bomb is their last, but also likely resort, as very few survive "intercision."
This particular sect of the Magisterium is looking to destroy the Angels if they can't escape them. With the Dust collected from these children they sever, they are creating a bomb that would eradicate them, perhaps if it's large enough it could destroy all Dust.
The note received is another experiment report. To compare to an earlier report from the trip before. We also collected Rameel's items safely and they have accepted them.
[ hurrah... ]

I managed to get a scientist to talk about the experiments somewhat.
It's not just a matter of Dust, but the quality and quantity of the Dust. Supposedly, those who have committed more sins are the ones with a higher Dust concentrate, but it's the quality that they were more interested in.
Likely because the worse the sin, the higher the quality, the larger amount of energy would be generated from the severing of the link between child and their daemon.
Miss Rika was selected for experimentation because of these reasons.
Which is why... I feel it's very important to state my opinion that while we need to find a way to reunite with those who have died, it is us the living who are the most in danger due to what I believe these murders and executions might be leading us toward--being weaponized, in other words.

I believe they were refining their tracking to seek angels and eliminate them.

[JUST. HE'S SO?! ANGRY?!]
It makes everything about what that note Kim Dokja-ssi found seem like poor justification for the cruelty and abuse and suffering they're orchestrating!

But...the angels are the ones doing this, aren't they? If these scientists are trying to build a bomb to destroy all Dust, which would destroy the angels too, then why would the angels cooperate and put us through all of this?

You know the stories, don't you?
That's why.
This could be another... Flood, Sodom and Gomorrah, Egypt--take your pick.
Man was made from the Earth, from Dust. It only follows, then... if a group is trying to destroy God--the Authority, then of course...
But this is my theorizing. This is a conflict, after all.

If we were to somehow stop this war on the morrow, for example, I wonder if that unbalance would affect the outcome of it.
