Another week, another world to explore. Once again, waking brings you to unfamiliar surroundings, the bitter touch of Nerak cold fading to the more mild weather of autumn. The sound of cars or people talking or faint music greets your ears, no matter the time of day or night, and the light pollution is intense. Hope you weren't counting on seeing the stars.

Welcome to Kings, where you'll have your pick of shopping, entertainment, cute date spots, or just about anything else that you can think of! The city has something to offer for everyone. You'll never be wanting for things to do here - just try not to get lost in the subways. The locals may not be the most willing to help out.



Waiting for you to join them in the main plaza of Star Circle are Baraqiel, Shamsiel, and Suriel. You might have to push your way through the crowds to reach them properly, but no one's blinking an eye at your Watchers today. There are other people in costume hanging around already. What's a few angels to add to the antics?

Suriel greets everyone with their usual cheerful smile, fox daemon pressed close to their ankles to avoid getting lost in the crowd. "I bet this world reminds a bunch of you of home, huh? Let's all make the most of it while we're here!"

Baraqiel heaves a sigh, daemon weasel-formed and half-hidden in the folds of their hood as it suspiciously squints at every noise its little ears pick up. "Speak for yourself." They do not seem 100% thrilled with this worldhop, come the new week, but do at least offer something to the travelers gathered. "For those of you less used to cities like this, there are motorized vehicles of varying sizes in Kings - try not to get run over by them."

With a soft laugh, Shamsiel will look at Baraqiel and gently pat them on their upper arm and their falconet daemon will then proceed to take flight from their shoulder. At least they seem to be relieved that Baraqiel gave them a warning for those who aren't going to be familiar with it. "And much like the previous worlds we've been to, please be mindful of what you end up doing here. We are just visitors, after all, and it'd be rude if we left it all a mess."


As for your effect of the week... Your past injuries have cleared, with no phantom pains left to haunt you, your loved ones, or your launders. Instead, you'll find that you are unable to speak dishonestly - any time you try, your words get stuck on the tip of your tongue and never quite make it out. It's honesty week, lads - no more lying to yourselves or anyone else.

[ giving diluc the phone was the right idea. xie lian, not sure whether to laugh or cry as kaeya hangs up on them, decides to start scanning through the fridges like a good boy. ]

...B*ja Blam... are we sure this drink is even something for consumption..? Didn't they say it was an odd color, as well?

Little of this looks fit for consumption. [Look at this drink... is it yellow? Is it green? She can't even tell.] Thankfully, we won't be the ones to drink it.

I only wish they'd given us better detail. You'd think they'd at least know the type of bottle it came in, or were there any other drinks under the same maker!

[Is it in hipster glass bottles? Plastic soda bottles? Cans? This is like finding a needle in a haystack.]

[ kaeya will start looking as well alongside xie lian, frowning as he goes through all of the drinks. some strange energy supplements... he lifts up a bottle with effervescent two-tone purple green liquid, 8loko. ]

This can't possibly be drinkable.

[ it looks menacing. ]

[ is this what the kids are all drinking nowadays? diluc just shakes his head, while looking through the coolers and frowning. ]

Surely there must be something else they could want, if we're unable to fi-

[ *ring ring*

What even is this sound!!

[ he fumbles with the phone, looking a it confused as the song just gets LOUDER. finally he somehow manages to answer it. ]

Hello?

[ What's taking so loooooong. We are withering awaaaay. ]

My apologies. We are doing our best to find it quickly, now that we know the correct name things should-

[ Ugghhhhh! It's not that hard to find! It should be right next to the Mountain Holler!!! ]

[ mister diluc is usually so polite and well mannered! to see him lose his temper like that and just hang up....! xie lian also jumped about a foot and a half when the weird chirpy sound started, nearly smacking into a shelf full of brightly labeled green bull drinks. whatever that is.

Maybe we ought to try a different grocer? This seven eleven appears to not, actually, be something to thank the heaven for.

[ positive! he is trying to be positive!! ]

[She frowns, scanning over the stock once more. Not... that she can read labels still buT IT CONTINUES TO BE FINE, SIGHS!!!!]

So it seems. If I recall, there was a second shop across the street that looked promising. Shall we try there next?

[Wait, what's that on the bottom shelf... Alisaie crouches down, lifting the flap of her satchel so that Taf can poke his head out and read the label for her...]

...have any of you heard of "cotton candy" before? And why would they make it into a drink?

It's spun sugar, right? I've seen it in the park... regardless, I think they'll turn anything into a drink here. It's frightening.

[ he sighs and gives a stretch glancing at the bumberland farms across the street. there are indeed many bums outside of it so. aptly named? question mark? ]

But perhaps we should try our luck across the street...

[ this is one giant field trip and he's not even having fun. worst field trip ever!! they better get something good at the end of this... ]

[ at least it's not a bloody field trip? xie lian frowns at the idea of drinking straight sugar... ]

...People in the future must have very strange taste.

[ ah yes honesty week. off they go! xie lian still politely bows to the shopkeeper at the seven-eleven and will join the others! ]

[Goodbye, eleven-seven, hello bumberland farms! This place seems to have a little bit more in the way of drink options, so... promising? Maybe?]

Mayhap we should consider starting at different ends of the aisle and working our way toward the middle.

[...the phone is ringing again.]

Xie Lian, I believe it's your turn to deal with them.

[ kaeya just nods. he's not touching the phone until it comes back to him fairly. he's going to just start at one end of the coolers and furrow his brow as the ringtone continues to chirp awkwardly in the convenience store.

he does give xie lian a sympathetic look: ]

Xie Lian, perhaps you could ask them if they have any... second choices. You know. If we don't find this drink?

[ ...says the man who's favorite drink is grape juice. anyways.

oh that annoying song is back and diluc is rolling his eyes. he'll look to xie lian with an apologetic look,]

[ he'll hand him the phone, showing him how to answer the call and then gesturing for him to hold it up to his ear. ]

[ shoutout to diluc for showing xie lian how to answer the call. truly, ten out of ten. he looks at the phone, and the three of them all just looking at him, and then clicks the button and holds it to his ear.

"Have you FOUND IT yet." xie lian's tone in response stays gentle and apologetic, expression forming into a sheepish smile. ] Ah, no, not yet. We're looking, there are -

[ "There's gotta be what, a million of them? Come onnnnnn. We're dying. The roadies are dying - and here, xie lian mumbles ] What's a roadie...? [ as the men continue chattering and whining and complaining.

[ unfortunately, i mean look at him, he seems to be... handling it. kaeya just gives xie lian an apologetic smile as he walks backwards down one aisle, trying to look for anything and everything that might possibly be the b*jaest of the blams. this is absolutely ridiculous. how long can this go on? diet pebis, mountain don't (wow is that really what it's called? it is now, that's what i say)... this place is an absolute nightmare circus.

however. at the end of the aisle, which alisaie will see as well down the end of her aisle is the elusive.......

b*ja blam, just one last case perched on its lonesome with an electric blue mascot posed on top by the name bleakachu. ]

Huh, so it does exist.

[ diluc is staying near xie lian, just in case...but also looking inside the coolers at all this "baygo"?? there's a million colors of the stuff, even a grape flavor. hm.

kaeya's discovery grabs his attention and he just, stares at the blue mascot. ]

What is a "Bleakachu" and why is it imbued with electro?

[ diluc no ]

[ xie lian is still trying very hard to get the band to stop whining and calm down, soothing and patient and gentle, but it is not working. he's paced a little away from the rest of the group, holding the phone to his ear and talking into it, though.. he has his fingertips against his forehead like he's using a spiritual communication array at the same time.

as he opens his mouth to say something, though, he glances across the store and spots it

a group of other people also eyeing the holy b*ja blam.

xie lian closes his mouth. ]

...

[ and then blurts: ] Please call Ling Wen for assistance. [ who ] Goodbye. [ and then hangs up on them

[There it is. Finally. Alisaie doesn't care for decorum; she just books it down the aisle to grab the case... at the same time as one of the people from the other group reaches out to grab it.]

I'm afraid you'll have to look elsewhere. This is ours.

[Except the other group doesn't seem to want to listen--they're going on about how they've got a party going on tonight and they need this B*ja Blam; it's the main ingredient in their B*ja Boiz Blue Beach Bowl and they can't have their Bleakachu's B*ja Blowout Party without it, so the group is just going to have to go find something else!!

...this isn't going to end well.]

Alright, boys.

[ he says as he joins alisaie at her shoulder, folding his arms over his chest. he's already lost interest in why they need the terrible drink, and all he can hear are words that begin with the letter "b", probably a side effect of slowly boiling over madness. he claps his hands together once: ]

What'll it take for you to give us this last case, hm? An exchange? Or perhaps a little healthy competition? Earn the B*ja Blam and perhaps it will taste sweeter.

[ the beefy boiz look over at their slowly gathering group by the bleakachu and kaeya furtively looks over at xie lian, clearing his throat. ]

A test of strength, perhaps.

[shinetrue]

[ really what is the appeal of this stuff? it looks like some strange potion that may or may not turn you yourself blue upon drinking it. but maybe that's the vibe here? he doesn't know and frankly...he shouldn't care. ]

Surely, you boys would be up to the challenge? [ he raises a brow, arms crossing as he backs up kaeya. he's not opposed to also lending his strength, but he's more than confident that xie lian will wipe the floor with these guys. ]

[yueshen]

[ xie lian makes a surprised “eh?” noise, as he realizes what exactly is being suggested here. ]

Me? [ one of the dudes snorts, and xie lian raises his hands. ] we don’t have to fight! Surely, I don’t - I, against me? That wouldn’t even be fair - they could be seriously hurt!

[ the thing is he is just being honest. not even trying to brag or provoke. ]

Xie Lian's right. [Folding her arms and just. Casting a look over them...] We can hardly expect these boys to stand up to his strength. Truly, if they knew what he were capable of I doubt they'd have the stones to still be here.

[Is she trying to help or provoke them further? Either way, the group of guys are taking that as a challenge and there's a lot of jostling going on between them as they carry on--ooh, is the little girl trying to call us out? You don't know what you're talking about, sweetheart. After a moment, one of the biggest guys in the group is stepping to the front, puffing himself up.

If you want to get your asses kicked that bad over a case of soda...]

Xie Lian is right, they could get very hurt! No wonder they'd want to back down from it and walk away from this like cowards.

[ throws kerosene on the fire! but when one of the boys (men?) steps up, kaeya just grins, glancing over his shoulder at xie lian. ]

Just be gentle with them, Dianxia, we want them to be able to walk out of here, hm? In defeat.

[ the biggest guy just sort of continues his machismo strut. it almost looks unfair except this terrible group knows precisely how skewed it is in the other direction. ]

[shinetrue]

No need to hurt them, Xie Lian, just show them that looks can be deceiving.

[ kaeya really is a bad influence on diluc, but it's fine, because he finds this rather amusing. ]

Let them walk out of here with only their shame, to show for it.

[yueshen]

[ well there are now dudes advancing on them. one of them even stereotypically cracks his knuckles, and all three of them turn their attention onto xie lian himself. "what, your friends just gonna let you get your ass kicked?" one of them snickers.

xie lian is still very much on the path of non violence, here, as the three of them advance on him. both of his hands are in the air, and he says - ] Now, now -

[ but as he does

the goddamn phone in his pocket goes off. xie lian moves to grab it, one of the guys yells, grab 'im! and makes a lunge not for xie lian, but for san lang.

he grabs the phone with his left hand and tosses it out of his pocket, right to - ] Alisaie!

[ and then steps out of the way so the big dude falls on his face. the second of the trio lunges - he grabs his wrist, and with almost no effort, picks the guy up and slams him back down with a perfectly imitated
