Another week, another world to explore. Once again, waking brings you to unfamiliar surroundings, the bitter touch of Nerak cold fading to the more mild weather of autumn. The sound of cars or people talking or faint music greets your ears, no matter the time of day or night, and the light pollution is intense. Hope you weren't counting on seeing the stars.

Welcome to Kings, where you'll have your pick of shopping, entertainment, cute date spots, or just about anything else that you can think of! The city has something to offer for everyone. You'll never be wanting for things to do here - just try not to get lost in the subways. The locals may not be the most willing to help out.

Waiting for you to join them in the main plaza of Star Circle are Baraqiel, Shamsiel, and Suriel. You might have to push your way through the crowds to reach them properly, but no one's blinking an eye at your Watchers today. There are other people in costume hanging around already. What's a few angels to add to the antics?

Suriel greets everyone with their usual cheerful smile, fox daemon pressed close to their ankles to avoid getting lost in the crowd. "I bet this world reminds a bunch of you of home, huh? Let's all make the most of it while we're here!"

Baraqiel heaves a sigh, daemon weasel-formed and half-hidden in the folds of their hood as it suspiciously squints at every noise its little ears pick up. "Speak for yourself." They do not seem 100% thrilled with this worldhop, come the new week, but do at least offer something to the travelers gathered. "For those of you less used to cities like this, there are motorized vehicles of varying sizes in Kings - try not to get run over by them."

With a soft laugh, Shamsiel will look at Baraqiel and gently pat them on their upper arm and their falconet daemon will then proceed to take flight from their shoulder. At least they seem to be relieved that Baraqiel gave them a warning for those who aren't going to be familiar with it. "And much like the previous worlds we've been to, please be mindful of what you end up doing here. We are just visitors, after all, and it'd be rude if we left it all a mess."

As for your effect of the week... Your past injuries have cleared, with no phantom pains left to haunt you, your loved ones, or your launders. Instead, you'll find that you are unable to speak dishonestly - any time you try, your words get stuck on the tip of your tongue and never quite make it out. It's honesty week, lads - no more lying to yourselves or anyone else.

[ flat jogs over to the man's side jack flying above his shoulder ]

[ First thing's first, he's turning the mic off so it doesn't actually damage their ears while they're doing this. Second, he looks between the groups. Goodbyeeeee, dragon.

He'll follow Rin to see what he's up to. ]

Maybe we two eyes can see something wrong back here.

[Let's get those instruments, Flat. Kim sets the little dragon pal on his shoulder so he can pick up a guitar and give it an experimental strum.

It sounds like garbage.]

[Wow what garbage.]

Don't tell me the instruments are broken too!

[He says this while he's still following the cords up to the speakers.]

[ flat will take a bass guitar and also give it a strum-- ]

Wow, this is bad. [ louder, for everyone to hear: ] Does anyone have a tuning key!?

[ have some mic feedback ]

[ Maybe, just maybe, he should be paying attention to the cords in front of him and not looking over at that hideously bad sound. Problem is, his foot gets caught on one of the cords and he's stumbling and tripping over himself.

He's not the most coordinated guy sometimes. Moments like this are his time to shine. Luckily he only slams into one of the sturdy speakers. ]

Well, sometimes you do smack things to try to fix them, right...?

Hmh...

[Kim tries adjusting the pegs on the guitar to tune it manually. It does not go great, because Kim is not a musician. He tries plucking a few strings......

They still sound mostly like garbage.]

[Kotetsu slams into one of the speakers right as Rin is inspecting it. Meaning he sees Kotetsu hit it and hurries to put up his hands to stop the speaker from falling over.

There is a 'pop' sound from somewhere inside the speaker when this happens, and suddenly that speaker isn't playing any sounds anymore.]

...oh no.

[ flat will also try to tune it on his own...and it's??? going okay??? but also not too well. actually, it still sounds like garbage.

though when he hears the speaker die, his attention immediately turns towards rin. ]

Rin? What did you do?

[ YEAH, RIN. WHAT DID YOU DO?

But he looks over at Flat, sheepishly. ]

I... think it was me.

It doesn't matter whose fault it is. We just have to deal with it.

[Says Kim, still dealing with a guitar that sounds moderately like garbage.]

It's fine! It looks fine?

[The speaker is making no sound, even after Rin unplugs it and plugs it back in.]

We should find a replacement.

How are we going to find a replacement!? Do we have to buy one ourselves???

[ hrrrrghhh this bass sounds awful still, ]

Mister Kim, can’t we fix it??

[ Kotetsu just starts to smack it now? ]

Maybe something's just loose in there..

You can try opening it up and checking the inner wiring, but... [He just looks back to his mildly-garbage-sounding guitar.]

I'm not a technician. I don't know about this any better than the rest of you.

Open it up, sure. Let's do that.

[He. Did not listen to the rest of what Kim said.

And he's prying off the back of the speaker just in time to see it go 'pop' and smoke come out of some of the expensive-looking parts.]

[ flat knows enough about electronics to know that:

a. that’s not how you open a speaker
b. smoke should not be coming out of a speaker at Any Time. ]

That thing is totally fried. We probably have to change the transitors and the cables as well.

[ Yeah. There's a wince when Rin rips the back off. ]

...Well. If we weren't expected to pay for it before, I think they're going to insist on it now.

Not at all. They should have known the risks of getting laymen to work with delicate equipment like this.

[A strum of the guitar.

... It doesn't sound like garbage!

...... There are so many other instruments here.]

[IMMEDIATELY SLAPPING THE BACK OF THE SPEAKER SHUT! And then he unplugs it.]

We'll just...leave that for someone else to find.

[He's standing up and quickly scurrying away to go help with the instruments.]

You can’t play in a band without speakers!

[ he can’t believe he has to be one of the voices of reason here???????

but he will also try to find something to just… cover it up. ]

Maybe they’ll think they, um… forgot it.

[ He's also looking around and sweats nervously. ]

We probably should let someone know. It'd be worse if we were caught later.

[Kim returns from putting away that one single guitar he's been working on this whole time.]
