25 Remain
Waking up this morning will reveal some unfamiliar surroundings. While Camebit had an autumnal chill in the air, things are a little different, now - the air is frigid, and waking up is an adventure, considering you are swaddled to the nines and cozied right up to your roomie of the week (where you have one, anyways). Everything around you is made of ice and packed snow, fogged glass and porcelain, and it is freezing. Who thought this was a good idea? Even the brisk chill of Camebit in the skies above everything was more forgiving than this! This isn't a transition! Whose manager can you speak to..?
About that.

You have to trek out of the lodging, and over into the building made of actual wood and stone, to actually see your Watchers of the week. They're all dressed in their full cloaks again to combat the chill, even in this building, although both Rameel and Satariel are standing much closer to Yomiel than they usually do - much like they had in Ahnkeen, actually.
"Good morning and welcome to Nerak! If you've ever wondered what it was like to stay at an ice hotel, then you're in luck!" Rameel says with moderate flourish as they make sure to keep close to Yomiel—their daemon currently not found anywhere near them as they make the announcement. Looks like they're without their black box of musical wonders this morning.
While the other two Watchers press close, Yomiel's daemon has wrapped itself around their neck like a polecat scarf. Warm. Arm cradled gently against their chest, they pause to glance at Satariel before greeting everyone. "Try to be careful. The ice can get slippery, especially when you're all looking like that and leaving a mess everywhere you go." Whatever that means.
Satariel seems a little more subdued than usual but offers everyone a smile, daemon bear-shaped against their back, large head peering around at everyone while they take in the travelers that come to join them here in the hotel lobby. Their cloak is completely closed around them - not even the front of their dress can be seen, and they're clearly holding it tightly shut. "Please be nice to the hotel staff - if I catch any of you being rude to them, I'll kick you clear across the tundra before sticking you in their outdoor 'jail' for timeout. We're guests, but they're working hard to accommodate us, alright?"

With the new week, travelers will find that they no longer the adorable animal features they did in Camebit, but something much less cute. Injuries from their pasts have come back to haunt them, major or minor, and they cannot be healed. The good thing is that they don't seem to hurt or really take a toll on the travelers at all - at least, not until they're touched, and then both you the other will feel the pain from the moment the wound was inflicted. This effect lasts all week.

Thursday Morning - Town Hall (Lite)
I know we're missing some people. But we do need to talk about the information we've acquired this week, before it becomes too difficult to have a discussion. We'll make sure to take notes to share with the others when they come back.
For now... let's get into it. Any new letters, investigation results, things that didn't get mentioned earlier in the week? Please share with the group.
Infodump from the Dead
[If the staff took these down yesterday, oh well. There are now copies posted in view for all.]
Some appear to mention the Magisterium. Mr. Kaburagi and I tried inquiring about them back in Ahnkeen. From what we gathered, they're said to be a group of people who were obsessed with angels. "Higher beings." And they were experimenting with dangerous projects -- things that would be considered heresy. We were advised to be careful who we talk to about the Magisterium's experiments.
Miss Monika said in an earlier report that it sounded like they were planning on contacting "higher beings"...
If anyone has more information about the Magisterium, now would be the time to share. Other than that... what can we make of this?

"X," I believe, stands for the Celestials. "M" almost certainly stands for the Temporals, and I believe the rest of this sentence to say that they are "acting ostensibly on behalf of all Angels." In the third note, they theorize him to be the Lord Regent I spoke of earlier this week.

Haven't seen you mention M outside Inquisition. May be important to know erasing information purposeful?

[ i will be kind to pzue who was consumed by the dreaded real world ]
In short, they are an organization of religious intellectuals who hold the belief there is a way to permanently eradicate the angels—and I have good reason to suspect that is what their experiments involved. As it is difficult to get many to speak of their lot, I would advise that you carefully decide whom you approach, should anyone wish to discover more information.

Chapel Mini-Cyoa and Magisterium Info
Apparently the Magisterium reside in a country that is quite some way away from here. Nerak is a neutral territory, and the church here is non-denominational. Discussing politics or religion is quite frowned upon, though they do indeed believe that angels exist. The pastor described them as messengers and soldiers of God; holy and divine beings who watch over mankind.
The Magisterium is the leadership of the church, and issue the word of the church. Their religion includes the hierarchy of angels, and they study this. There is a Holy War that the Magisterium is engaged in, and which is far away but the people here rather fear will come to their borders, though I could not get much more information about this. Otherwise, the Magisterium do research on various things - things that range from minor inventions and sciences through the lens of the church, to something called dark matter that the pastor did not know much about.
The war is against non-believers, heretics, and sinners - the other words used were Inquisition, or cleansing.

Calamities - Ankheen
[Looking at notes on the known calamities...]
Mr. Kaburagi and I did learn a little on this matter when inquiring around town. We were told that the serpent was once a "great beast" that lived in that place before it became a desert. And that it attacked the natives of the city long ago before it fell. "The serpent of the garden lay waste and its bones became our shelter," they said.

[Cryptic, Rin.
But he shows a letter to the group:]
Regarding the conflict in our world: If Lucifer, King of Light, fought Astaroth, King of Rot, which demon should you support for the safety of Assiah? Assume for a moment that Sir Pheles, King of Time, does not exist. Consider all options. If you have trouble with this homework assignment, you can ask others for help.
['all' is underlined three times btw.]

You don't have to support either of them if they both suck?

Um. Is he trying to get you to remember something that actually happened? Are you familiar with Lucifer, King of Light and Astaroth, King of Rot and Assiah? I think he's trying to suggest there's a third option, and trying to jog your memory of what it might be?

[ ehhh ]
That's like... demonology stuff? My Professor taught us a bunch about the Kabbalah and stuff. I think Assiah is kind of like...the human realm? It's, uh, the Earth, I think! So I think he's asking which Angel would you support for the safety of humanity? And to think really hard...you don't have to support either of them.
[ a pause... ]
Either that or your brother got really into Dungeons and Dragons. 50/50.
