22 Remain
Another week, another world to explore. Once again, waking brings you to unfamiliar surroundings, the bitter touch of Nerak cold fading to the more mild weather of autumn. The sound of cars or people talking or faint music greets your ears, no matter the time of day or night, and the light pollution is intense. Hope you weren't counting on seeing the stars.
Welcome to Kings, where you'll have your pick of shopping, entertainment, cute date spots, or just about anything else that you can think of! The city has something to offer for everyone. You'll never be wanting for things to do here - just try not to get lost in the subways. The locals may not be the most willing to help out.

Waiting for you to join them in the main plaza of Star Circle are Baraqiel, Shamsiel, and Suriel. You might have to push your way through the crowds to reach them properly, but no one's blinking an eye at your Watchers today. There are other people in costume hanging around already. What's a few angels to add to the antics?
Suriel greets everyone with their usual cheerful smile, fox daemon pressed close to their ankles to avoid getting lost in the crowd. "I bet this world reminds a bunch of you of home, huh? Let's all make the most of it while we're here!"
Baraqiel heaves a sigh, daemon weasel-formed and half-hidden in the folds of their hood as it suspiciously squints at every noise its little ears pick up. "Speak for yourself." They do not seem 100% thrilled with this worldhop, come the new week, but do at least offer something to the travelers gathered. "For those of you less used to cities like this, there are motorized vehicles of varying sizes in Kings - try not to get run over by them."
With a soft laugh, Shamsiel will look at Baraqiel and gently pat them on their upper arm and their falconet daemon will then proceed to take flight from their shoulder. At least they seem to be relieved that Baraqiel gave them a warning for those who aren't going to be familiar with it. "And much like the previous worlds we've been to, please be mindful of what you end up doing here. We are just visitors, after all, and it'd be rude if we left it all a mess."

As for your effect of the week... Your past injuries have cleared, with no phantom pains left to haunt you, your loved ones, or your launders. Instead, you'll find that you are unable to speak dishonestly - any time you try, your words get stuck on the tip of your tongue and never quite make it out. It's honesty week, lads - no more lying to yourselves or anyone else.

[He is probably wearing some garish sunglasses from a local kiosk. Hi.]

First, why are you here. Are you stalking me?
Second, who told you those sunglasses look good on you? You got ripped off. They're ridiculous. Utterly ridiculous.
no subject
And hm? Do they not?
no subject
They look awful!
no subject
And I suppose they do! I've never worn sunglasses before!

[And they're. Probably like this. Terrible. When he sees Lup, he pauses...]
[Before INSTANTLY beelining over to her with excitement!]
Miss Lup! My dear friend!! I missed you!
no subject
Hey, babe. [she holds her hand out for him!!] I got you something! Have you had these? The - uh, bubble tea? It's rad as fuck.
Those sunglasses are stupendously terrible, where did you get them? I want thirty.
no subject
No, no, I have not? Tea with bubbles? Intriguing!
[And he'll remove his pair to stick on her head.]
You may have this one for now. They sell them at some kiosks around town.

[He beams!]
They're quite fascinating! And...oh! Are you a musician, my dear girl?
no subject
[ and - she nods! ]
Mm-hm! At least, I'm trying to be. [ but she is out here performing for free on the sidewalk, so, you know. not much success, yet. ]

[:o]
I see, I see. [And he'll move to sit down next to her, crosslegged.] May I ask to hear one of your songs?

HALT VILE FIEND
[ A voice seems to shout from a nebulous direction. It echoes dramatically, which seems to match the accent that the person is putting on their voice. ]
Shadow Dragon!
[ Then, from the shadows (aka from the bushes at his side) he jumps out in front dressed up in a... particular manner. They even have a sword that, for all intents and purposes, looks real. However, Sholmes can tell it is fake. ]
You think one can just trespass upon this sacred soil without paying their due reverence to those that came before?! Those sort of actions belong to only the most dastardly of villains. But such a conclusion is the only one that can be drawn by anyone who gazes upon your garish dress! [ HELLO LIKE YOU CAN TALK ] Your facial covering only betrays the blackened heart that rests deep within the very confines of your body.
And yet, I can sense a goodness within you as well. [ he hums pensively ] Yes, there is. A corruption?!
Gah, how could I have been so blind?! An ailment similar to my sword hand that constantly gnaws at my soul. Yes, I know what I must do. By the sacred and royal blood of heroes that runs through my veins, I must deliver you from this pox.
I, the hero of the green, Owain Dark, am here to render my aid!!

[(sholmes voice) I See]
[A clearing of the throat, before he wildly gestures.]
Oh! I have been set upon by such a monumental figure! But I am a... [He coughs.] Detective! Just a detective. I bare no offense towards you, oh mighty hero of green! I am merely wearing some sunglasses on this bright and sunny day! May I hope I do not have a pox in my soul from it!
no subject
[ but he perks up at the wild gesture ]
Yes, I knew there was a light within that could not be vanquished by the shades of despair! No, such a purity will definitely be enough to protect a seeker of truth and justice from the pox.
Though, if it would please you, might you accept a suggestion from one such as myself?
no subject
Hm? Hmmm? Yes, go ahead! What, pray tell, may a hero of your stature suggest to me?

She's absolutely impressed, though! Looking at him with starry eyes and approval. Ah, it's good to see someone unafraid of expressing themselves so openly, she thinks!]
Oh, you look like a superstar!
[Her taste is not great, don't listen to her]
no subject
[He twirls and...does a pose! Yes! He IS a superstar!]
I do thank you for your compliments, my dear madam! I am glad to be as regarded as such, even though, technically, I am a superstar!
no subject
[She doesn't, she's just eccentric]
In fact, just looking at you is inspiring! My head is a juicy steak and the creative juices are just sizzling at the sight of you. I should draw you! You'd be perfect as a character for my next book!
[That's pretty much a request for permission, yup]

[ He'll lift up his camera. ]
Now strike a pose.

[He blinks.]
[And then does so! JOJO POSE!]
no subject
[ Snapping a couple pics. Then he'll look at the screen to check out how it turned out. ]
Looking good! Do you want to see?
